After a fantastic weekend at the Ideal Home Show Glasgow 2019, it seemed fit to create a short post on some of the best interior trends emerging this summer. This was our 35th year at the Ideal Home Show and this is something we as a company are very proud of!

With over 45 000 visitors and hundreds of stands, it is great to see so much buzz around interior design and the home renovation sector. Without further adieu, the top trends and innovative kitchen decor updates from the show:

1. Copper is in!

For those of you with your finger on the pulse of interior design, this may not be new information, but the ideal home show definitely had plenty of copper to go around! DM Design are always on trend and so we of course had a beautiful display of copper on our stand.

The beautiful Caple tap and sink were accentuated by the colours in our granite. Our designer then paired this with some lovely copper handles and some light wicker baskets to carry over the colour. Copper is great in both a traditional and modern kitchen.

 2. tALL WALL UNITS

Tall wall units are not only stylish, but they also provide additional storage space. With clever storage solutions such as a blum tower or pull out you can really plan a bespoke wall unit for all your storage requirements. Definitely one to add to the list of kitchen renovation ideas!

3. grey is here to stay

Grey has been trending for a while now and it's easy to see why! Grey is a perfect neutral tone that you can mix and match with any colour. Neutral tones with a splash of colour are really in this summer. We added a splash of yellow to our stand but you can add in any colour with grey! That's why it's so great ;)

4.open shelves are back

Open shelves really do create a beautiful rustic look in your kitchen. Open shelves are back and that means extra space to store your kitchen goods. A pro tip is to buy plenty of containers and fill them with your dry goods. This opens up some cupboard space and creates some interest on your shelves.
